Worship Leader Mentoring
One on one weekly sessions with an experienced worship leader. Training and feedback in all needed areas, such as but not limited to: song selection, musicality, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, presentation, interactions with musicians, team leadership.
Worship Team Development
Students will be formed into a worship team, meeting several times a week. Skills, experience, and excellence will be developed in band rehearsals, with each person having opportunities to develop team leadership abilities. Set planning, preparation of music, planning and leading rehearsals, worship leading, and musical direction will be some of the main areas addressed. Students will also have opportunities to participate in Seacoast worship teams and experiences.
Worship Leading Workshop
An intense, individualized workshop focusing on solo worship leading and leading in front of a team. Students are given feedback from experienced worship leaders, on their worship leading, team leading, and guitar/piano playing.
Music theory to meet functional needs of worship leaders: chord theory, rhythm training, transposition, sight singing, ear training. Music fundamentals will also be included: reading music, rhythms, etc.
Teaches piano skills sufficient for students to be able to lead a worship set on piano, or improves existing strengths. Taught in weekly private lesson format.
Teaches Guitar skills sufficient for students to be able to lead a worship set on guitar, or improves existing skills. Taught in weekly private lesson format.
Private lessons in voice with a qualified teacher for all students. For extra sessions with Tim Carson, expert traveling vocal coach, see vocalartistry.com. Master class sessions will also be part of this class. The focus will be on improving the use of the voice in worship, improving musicianship, expression, presentation, as well as improving vocal quality and skills in general.
Vocal Harmony Training
Teaches skills in finding and singing harmonies, training background vocalists, accurate intonation, and blending.
Technology in Worship
This class includes hands on training and experiences in technologies used in worship. This includes visual media, sound reinforcement, instrumentband staging, and lighting. Hands-on use of worship presentation projection software is included. Also includes Worship Planning Center training, stage setup, monitoring, and basic recording skills.
Includes composing, workshopping, and recording original songs. This is an important feature of the curriculum which will meet throughout the year.
Students will take part in hands on worship leading, as a part of their curriculum. Students will serve in a variety of different settings and will be expected to individually practice and prepare for each worship leading opportunity.
An optional class designed to improve the improvisation skills of musicians who improvise solos, or wish to learn to do so.
